[CES2026]Korean Beauty Tech Giants Lead AI Innovation Push at CES 2026

Amorepacific, Kolmar Korea, and APR Showcase Next-Generation Skincare Devices in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — South Korea’s beauty and healthcare industry is set to dominate the technology spotlight at CES 2026, with major corporations unveiling AI-powered diagnostic devices and personalized skincare platforms at the world’s largest consumer electronics show, taking place January 6-9 in Las Vegas.

The convergence of artificial intelligence, wearable sensors, and precision diagnostics marks a decisive shift in K-beauty’s evolution from cosmetics manufacturing to technology-driven healthcare solutions, according to industry observers.

MIT-Developed Skinsight Platform Wins Innovation Award

Amorepacific Co., South Korea’s largest cosmetics conglomerate, will exhibit its Skinsight™ technology, which earned a CES 2026 Innovation Award in the Beauty Tech category—the company’s seventh consecutive year of CES recognition.

Developed in collaboration with researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Skinsight is an “electronic skin” platform that analyzes causes of skin aging in real time and delivers personalized skincare recommendations tailored to individual users.

The system consists of an ultra-thin wearable sensor patch, a compact Bluetooth transmission module, and an AI-powered mobile application. The high-sensitivity strain sensor adheres to the skin and detects micrometer-level changes in key aging factors—including skin tightness, UV and blue light exposure, temperature, and moisture—transmitting data in real time.

“Skinsight represents a breakthrough platform that moves beyond simply observing the skin to predicting and managing its changes through scientific precision,” said Byung-Fhy Brian Suh, CTO and Head of Amorepacific R&I Center. “Through advanced scientific technologies, we aim to predict the causes of skin aging and continuously expand individual beauty—ultimately opening up a new era of Longevity as defined by Amorepacific, where the skin’s natural vitality endures.”

Amorepacific has published research findings on Skinsight in prestigious journals including Science and Science Advances, and secured patent registrations in South Korea, the United States, and other countries through PCT international applications.

AI-Powered Scar Treatment Device Debuts

Kolmar Korea Co., a leading Korean contract manufacturer, won a CES 2026 Innovation Award in the Digital Health institutional sector for its revolutionary scar beauty device.

The device diagnoses skin wounds using artificial intelligence (AI), automatically sprays medication, and covers damaged areas with customized makeup—integrating wound analysis, automated drug delivery, and LED treatment into a single non-invasive system.

Kolmar Korea’s innovation reflects the industry’s broader shift toward device-led, diagnostic beauty solutions that bridge the gap between cosmetics and medical technology.

APR Returns for Third Year with Medicube Lineup

APR Co., best known for its Medicube AGE-R line of at-home beauty devices, will participate in CES 2026 for the third consecutive year, showcasing flagship products and operating a dedicated Medicube booth equipped with trial and consultation spaces.

APR, which generates nearly 80 percent of its revenue overseas, has experienced explosive international growth. The company’s CES 2025 booth drew approximately 1,200 visitors—a 70 percent increase from the previous year—signaling strong global demand for Korean beauty devices, particularly in the United States and Europe.

“At CES 2026, APR seeks to enhance the global standing of K-beauty tech through technological advancement and innovation,” an APR official said. “We will leverage the platform to deepen global partnerships and further expand our international operations.”

Healthcare Robotics on Display

Two major Korean healthcare firms will also showcase wellness technologies:

  • Bodyfriend will present its Healthcare Robot 733, which won a CES Innovation Award last year, alongside other flagship health devices.
  • CERAGEM Co. plans to introduce its AI Wellness Home technology, continuing its track record of innovation. The company earned 12 CES Innovation Awards across health, home, and beauty products, signaling its growing presence in AI-driven wellness solutions.

Global Implications for K-Beauty

“With global interest in K-beauty continuing to rise, there is growing curiosity about what new technologies Korean companies will introduce,” one industry insider noted.

The 2026 CES awards in beauty tech and digital health underscore a common industry premise: beauty is becoming more diagnostic, predictive, and device-led.

LG Household & Health Care also secured its first CES honor in the beauty tech category with its Hyper Rejuvenating Eye Patch, a wearable device integrating proprietary skin-diagnosis technology with customized ingredient delivery and light therapy.

Contract manufacturer Cosmax introduced maXpace, an automated device enabling beauty brands to produce personalized cosmetics using formulation algorithms and proprietary product-development expertise.

“With personalized cosmetics entering a new phase, we developed this device to enhance consumer accessibility and support tailored service models for our clients,” a Cosmax official said. “Our goal is to drive customized cosmetics forward through innovation while keeping sustainability in focus.”

The Technology Transformation

The Korean beauty industry’s measured push into technology-driven innovation has never been more visible than at CES, where a cohort of established companies is showcasing an industry in transition—one increasingly shaped by fast-moving trends at the intersection of consumer electronics, artificial intelligence, and data.

As Korean beauty firms continue to integrate MIT-level research partnerships, AI diagnostics, and wearable sensor technology into consumer products, CES 2026 marks a pivotal moment in K-beauty’s evolution from cosmetics powerhouse to global leader in beauty technology innovation.
